Two weeks pass with no rescue, causing injured girls to die. Sensei returns without aid, claiming to have hunted a deer. Kazuki suspects the meat was something else and flees with Amane. She reveals the survivors are mad or complicit. Kazuki stays behind as a decoy, allowing Amane to escape. Hailed as a miracle survivor, Amane faces intense scrutiny. Haunted by nightmares and public pressure, she believes she must be punished for living. She identifies Yuuji as the one with the right to punish her and asks him to kill her. Instead, Yuuji asks her to live for his sake. He hopes that by accepting her despite her past, she will eventually come to forgive herself.
