Ep. 9: Yuuji and Makina flee the Academy while confronting Makina's traumatic past and her mother's sinister motives.

Yuuji accepts JB's assignment to protect Makina, prompting them to leave the Academy to avoid capture. Sachi gifts Makina an apple sapling before their departure. Yuuji successfully evades all agents sent by the organization to retrieve Makina. During their escape, Yuuji learns of Makina's recurring nightmares regarding her father, who was murdered by her mother after discovering Irisu Group corruption. Makina possesses a photographic memory and retained incriminating documents. Her mother ordered the hit after Makina threatened to expose the corruption unless her sister Sarina was protected. When their hideout is compromised, Makina forgets her sapling and returns to the hotel, where she is shot. Yuuji rushes her to a hospital but encounters JB. Makina's mother arrives, revealing she needs Makina's organs for Sarina. Disguised, Yuuji assassinates the mother at Irisu Group headquarters. With the contractor eliminated and evidence secured, Yuuji and the recovering Makina return to the Academy.
