Excavations proceed while Kihel, also known as Dianna, meets Will Game, the grandson of her fiancé from decades prior on Earth. Will is digging for what he thinks is a spaceship. His companion, Teteth Halleh, attempts to kill Dianna but stops after learning she is just a local girl named Kihel. Teteth, a member of the Moonrace, questions Loran about his assistance to the Militia. Loran subsequently battles the Dianna Counter forces. Meanwhile, Kihel discovers a music box at Will's home and weeps upon finding it.
