Ep. 15: Scar defeats the Silver Alchemist while the Elrics meet Ling Yao in Rush Valley
Scar eliminates state alchemist Giolio Comanche and returns to his hideout with Yoki, where they encounter May Chang and her panda Shao Mei, who seek the philosopher's stone. Concurrently, Roy Mustang, Riza Hawkeye, and Vato Falman detain Barry the Chopper for interrogation regarding Maes Hughes' assassination. Edward and Alphonse Elric return to Rush Valley for automail repairs and discover Ling Yao, a starving Xingese man researching alkahestry. After feeding him, Ling's bodyguards Lan Fan and Fu take the brothers hostage to extract stone secrets, causing significant town damage during their battle. Upon their defeat, Ling retreats, leaving the Elrics to face the angry locals. After repairing the town, Ling reveals his ambition to become heir to the throne through the philosopher's stone. Winry joins the group as they prepare to travel to Central, while Scar, Yoki, and May depart in a horse carriage.
