Edward and Alphonse investigate why Scar and May performed alchemy despite the block, leading them to search for May and Shao Mei. Mustang’s subordinates depart for various state military bases, and he reminds Edward of the 520 cens debt, which Edward retains until Mustang becomes Führer. Using a note from Falman, Mustang contacts Commanding Officer Grumman. Fu is shocked by Lan Fan’s lost arm, but they refuse automail repair to protect Winry. Knox’s family visits, pleased he treated two live patients. Suspecting Marcoh escaped with Scar, Envy frees Kimblee to retrieve Marcoh and kill Scar. Scar destroys Marcoh’s face to prevent recognition and heads North to recover his brother’s notes.
