Olivier subdues Sloth by freezing him, then arrests Edward and Alphonse to interrogate them about the homunculus. In the hospital, Lieutenant General Raven visits Kimblee alongside another state alchemist who uses a philosopher's stone to heal injuries. Meanwhile, May instructs Marcoh on alkahestry. Edward, Olivier, Buccaneer, and Falman examine the tunnel created by Sloth, where Edward reveals details to Olivier. The group deduces the tunnel functions as a massive transmutation circle for the philosopher's stone, revealing that Amestris itself was constructed for this purpose. Olivier engages Raven in conversation while her team listens, eventually extracting information from him regarding the existence of immortal armies.
