Winry repairs Edward’s automail as Kimblee orders Alphonse kept separate from Edward. Olivier dispatches a search party into the tunnels, where survivors warn against using lights due to a monster. Hawkeye discovers Selim is the homunculus Pride, who attacks from shadows. Kimblee tasks Edward with finding Scar and Marcoh, proposing a blood crest similar to Ishval at Briggs Fortress and offering a philosopher's stone as incentive. Edward informs Alphonse and Winry, then reluctantly accepts the mission without intending to use the stone. The Elric brothers plan to locate Scar and May, prompting Winry to join them on the journey.
