Ep. 1: Hakumei and Mikochi seek the red evening kite while visiting Arabi and meeting Kobone's master

After reading about a wish-granting red evening kite in the mountains, Hakumei wishes to catch it. Riding beetles, Mikochi recounts her past with a white bird named Kafu, whom she fed minestrone daily until it vanished. Atop the mountain, the pair is surprised when a bird steals their soup. They discover Kafu is the evening kite, appearing red at dusk but white at dawn. Mikochi then guides Hakumei to the busy market and port town of Arabi, where she is recognized for her culinary skills. There, she introduces Hakumei to a friend who serves as the master of the café and tavern Kobone.
