Although the older sister, Madeila, opposes their stay, the younger sister permits it and requests that Alzeid and Baroqueheat follow Madeila into a nearby cave if she searches for her late grandfather's treasure. Madeila asks Rahzel to accompany her on this expedition, and the group departs amidst the storm. They eventually discover that the treasure is a fossil of a winged creature that reflects the morning light. This discovery inspires Madeila, who decides to temporarily run away from home.

Rahzel and companions encounter an albino girl in snowy mountains after an avalanche.
Feb 16, 2008Rahzel and her companions are traveling in the snowy mountains when a sudden avalanche comes barreling toward them, and in the midst of this, Rahzel and the others are pulled down into another part of the mountain. They wake up to find a young albino girl named Ludovika, and members of the village comes to retrieve her. The village leader inquires to how Alzeid, who is also an albino, can go outside, and he responds that it does not take much to enable him to have a normal life. In the middle of the night, Alzeid overhears that the villagers are planning to kill them, so they leave, but Ludovika follows them and helps to guide them out of the forest. The village elder ends up attacking by using the trees, but Ludovika jumps into his attack in order to save Alzeid. Ludovika finally sees the blue sky, but she disappears in a flash of white flower petals. It turns out that Ludovika and the villagers were personifications of the surrounding forest.

Rahzel saves Vincent from robbers and avoids magic for a week
Feb 23, 2008Rahzel and Alzeid plan to meet Baroqueheat in a new city. Before the meeting, Rahzel rescues a boy named Vincent from robbers and encounters his guard, Soresta. Soresta served in the same military unit as Alzeid and Baroqueheat, so he knows them well. Alzeid instructs Rahzel to refrain from using magic for at least three days to foster self-reliance. Frustrated, Rahzel extends this restriction to a week. Later, Rahzel escapes Vincent's guards without using magic, while Vincent causes a massive explosion during the encounter. This sequence highlights Rahzel's growing independence and the complex connections between the characters involved in the mission.

Mar 1, 2008During the night, men attempt to abduct Vincent, but Soresta, Baroqueheat, and Alzeid intervene. Before Rahzel can escape with Vincent, Baroqueheat knocks her out, allowing them to take him. Alzeid tracks Soresta using a string left behind and engages in a sword fight. Rahzel escapes during the conflict and attempts to rescue Vincent. Baroqueheat switches sides again, protecting Rahzel from Soresta's men. Alzeid wins the duel, but Rahzel interferes to save Soresta's life. Despite this mercy, Soresta attempts to kill Rahzel out of jealousy, prompting Alzeid to kill him first. Later, Rahzel's father arrives at the scene.

Mar 8, 2008Rahzel’s adoptive father, who raised her after her biological parent left, hosts a birthday celebration and intends to take her home, causing friction with Alzeid. On the day of her departure, Alzeid seeks a gift but receives advice and encounters a man regretting the abandonment of his daughter years prior, who is implied to be Rahzel’s biological father. Alzeid rushes to the train station to pursue the departing vehicle. When Rahzel reaches the end of the train, Alzeid shouts that he will neither write nor think of her if she leaves him. Enraged by this statement, Rahzel jumps off the train. Alzeid clarifies that their bond as comrades exists only while they travel together. Consequently, Rahzel agrees to continue her journey with Alzeid and Baroqueheat.
