Ep. 2: Hayate awakens in Nagi's mansion and begins his new life as her butler.

Hayate wakes up in Nagi's mansion, mistakenly believing he has died and reached heaven. While bathing, he accidentally sees the maid Maria naked, causing his wounds to reopen and him to faint. Upon waking, Nagi and Maria inform him that he is now the new butler following Himegami's departure. The head butler opposes this, but Maria refuses to fire him. Hayate attempts to prove his worth by cleaning rapidly using skills from past jobs. He later discovers Nagi's manga, but calling it a picture diary leads to him being ejected. Believing he was fired, Hayate leaves and is kidnapped by Yakuza. Nagi, disguised as 'Mask the Money', rescues him by paying his debt with a suitcase of cash, prompting Hayate to work as her butler to repay her.
