Rena discovers that Mion moved the bodies from their original hiding spot, causing her faith in her friends to collapse and triggering her descent into insanity. When Keiichi attempts to intervene, Rena confronts him with his own hidden secrets. He confesses a past sin, recalling events from Onikakushi-hen, including his paranoia and the murder of Rena and Mion. It is revealed that Mion had intended to draw on Keiichi with a marker instead of giving him an injection, which preceded the killings. Rika is shocked by this revelation and later informs Keiichi that only she remembers the murder, offering her forgiveness. This strengthens Keiichi's resolve to prevent such tragedies. He apologizes to Mion, who remains uncomfortable and baffled by the gesture.
