1EP 1Keiichi borrows magical trunks that cause self-love after he writes his own name on them.
Feb 25, 2009Rushing to meet friends at the pool, Keiichi borrows trunks from Mion's uncle, who claims they make women attracted to the wearer. Mion later learns the uncle made a mistake: the person whose name is written on the briefs falls in love with the wearer. Since Keiichi wrote his own name, he becomes infatuated with himself. The girls attempt to convince him to remove the trunks, but Keiichi suspects a trick to force him into embarrassing clothing. The group chases him to retrieve the item, even turning his friends Tomitake, Oishi, and Irie against each other. The trunks are removed before the three-hour limit expires, yet Keiichi remains naked and refuses to wear the alternative garments provided by the girls.
2EP 2Rika faces a new Hinamizawa after a fatal collision ends her previous loop.
Mar 25, 2009Having escaped the repeating tragedies of June 1983, Rika dies in a bicycle accident and awakens in an alternate Hinamizawa. This world differs significantly from previous loops: Keiichi, Takano, Irie, and Hanyuu are absent, and she lacks close friends, with Satoko being particularly hostile. The dam project threatening the town continues, and the usual series of disasters have not occurred, meaning Satoshi and her parents remain alive. Unlike her past experiences where she knew the outcome, Rika finds herself in a completely unfamiliar situation with no knowledge of how to proceed or what dangers lie ahead.
3EP 3Rika seeks a world-return item but faces moral dilemmas regarding its nature.
May 22, 2009Hanyuu informs Rika that returning to her original world requires locating and eliminating a specific artifact blocking Hanyuu’s entry. This obstruction also prevents Rika’s reincarnation, and if the artifact is human, she must kill them. Initially motivated by this goal, Rika assaults Satoko in response to bullying. However, her perspective shifts as she experiences maternal care and builds friendships with Mion, Rena, and Satoshi, eventually reconciling with Satoko. She begins weighing which world to inhabit until discovering that her mother, revealed to be the reincarnation of Oyashiro rather than Rika, is the very item she must dispose of.
4EP 4Rika Faces Moral Dilemma Between Sinless World and Reality
Jun 24, 2009Rika struggles with the choice between staying in a sinless world or killing her mother to return home. Realizing time is short, she fights for her desires. She wakes from a coma in her original world, reuniting happily with friends, believing the other world was a dream. Rika assumes she killed her mother to regain consciousness. Unbeknownst to her, Hanyuu created this dream to teach that people must overcome personal hardships to make life worth living.
5EP 5Rena Swallows a Cursed Magatama Leading to Chaotic Romantic Entanglements
Aug 21, 2009Rena accidentally ingests a red Fuwazaru Magatama during a picnic with Keiichi, causing her to act lovesick. Rika explains that the broken seal forces the holder to fall blindly in love with the owner of the white counterpart. The group assumes Rena holds the red stone and searches for the white one, which passes through Tomitake, Takano, and Oishi, each succumbing to the curse. Keiichi wins the magatama from Rena and Oishi via mahjong but accidentally swallows it himself. Rika lifts the curse before Keiichi is affected, restoring Rena. She thanks Keiichi and confesses her feelings, unsure if they are genuine or cursed. Meanwhile, Tomitake and Takano remain infatuated with Rena and compete for her attention.
