Kaioh transports Lin to the Swamp of Demons to recharge his evil spiritual energy at the Pillar of Evil. Upon Kenshiro's arrival for their final confrontation, Kaioh recounts how saving them as children led him to reject love and seek revenge against the Hokuto Shinken Clan. The duel begins with Kenshiro surprising Kaioh by landing initial blows. Kaioh recovers and strikes Lin's Shikanhaku pressure point, rendering her unconscious and causing her to fall in love with the first person she sees upon waking. He then savagely attacks Kenshiro with renewed ferocity.
