Kaioh and Kenshiro engage in their final battle within the Swamp of Demons, appearing evenly matched. Concurrently, Black Yaksha informs Hyoh that Kenshiro has located Kaioh. Hyoh recounts his past, explaining how he was chosen as the Hokuto Shinken successor over the stronger Kaioh, deepening Kaioh's resentment. While Hyoh shares this history, he is ambushed by the assassin Zebra, who seeks a bounty. Despite sustaining injuries, Hyoh manages to defeat Zebra. In a separate development, the Shura warlord Samot searches for a wife and discovers the unconscious Lin riding Kaioh's horse.
