Tsubasa attempts to haze him by demanding twenty laps, but vice captain Rintaro orders the entire club to join the run. While other members lag behind, Maki and Toma complete the distance together, solidifying their bond. The following day at school, Maki observes Yuta Asuka watching him and Toma. He confronts Yuta, confirming that the latter harbors romantic feelings for Toma. Maki reassures Yuta that he is free to pursue his interests. Recognizing this dynamic, Maki asks if Yuta is interested in soft tennis and successfully convinces him to join the team as the manager.
