The team arrives at Misaki Academy for practice matches. Nao Tsukinose and Taiyo Ishigami lose 3-1 after winning the first set. Rintaro and Itsuki also lose 3-1. Tsubasa Soga and Shingo Takenouchi use intimidation to win a set but ultimately lose 3-1. Finally, Maki and Toma play against the top second-year team of Arashi Oji and Shinjuro Sunaga. They fall behind quickly, dropping the first two sets because they cannot return Oji's serves.
