He criticizes the team's poor performance, prompting Toma to quit in anger. The following day, Itsuki Ameno is bullied regarding his family and strikes a student with his racket. Rintaro and Itsuki discuss this with their advisor while the team reveals that Itsuki’s mother poured boiling water on him as a toddler. Maki then contacts Toma, refusing to accept his resignation because he still expects payment. Consequently, Toma returns to practice the next day.
