Ep. 18: Houtarou investigates his teacher's survival of lightning strikes and helicopter concerns.

The Classic Literature Club is surprised when Houtarou becomes interested in his former teacher's changed attitude toward helicopters and his survival of three lightning strikes. Eru joins him to research the matter at the city library. Houtarou recalls his sister's comment about mountain weather differing from the city, making the story plausible. Newspaper articles confirm his teacher often climbed mountains and was present during a storm where rescue helicopters could not reach him. Houtarou deduces the teacher feared the weather might prevent helicopters from reaching him, noting that people should be considerate of such concerns. Eru is stunned by this insight but cannot articulate her feelings. After solving the mystery, Eru returns home. Houtarou reflects on her voluntary help and feels he owes her.
