Naraku's mouth incarnation attacks, forcing Koga to rescue Kagome and Ayame from imminent danger. Inuyasha and his companions arrive later, at which point the creature reveals it was abandoned by Naraku within the castle. As Koga and Ayame are consumed by the entity, Koga's Shikon Jewel shards cause the mouth incarnation to explode. Following this event, Koga recalls proposing to Ayame, but he chooses to disregard the memory of that night entirely.
