Ep. 25: Naraku's Defeat and Kagome's Return to the Modern Era
After Naraku feeds his soul to the Shikon Jewel and spreads miasma, the group emerges near Kaede's village. Inuyasha destroys Naraku's body with Meido Zangetsuha, while Kagome pierces the Jewel with a sacred arrow, revealing his unfulfilled desire for Kikyo's heart. Miroku's Wind Tunnel disappears as Naraku's soul is purified. A Meido opens behind Kagome, pulling her through the well into the modern world. She resumes her high school life but lacks memories of Inuyasha. Touching the Sacred Tree restores her memories and breaks the spell, only for darkness to surround her. The Shikon Jewel warns her against making a selfish wish to return, threatening eternal imprisonment. Inuyasha leaps into the darkness after her, urging her not to wish yet to avoid binding herself to the Jewel forever.
