Miroku and Sango witness an illusion of his father’s demise, prompting Miroku to suggest separation after saving Sango. Rin, regaining consciousness, is pursued by Magatsuhi, which possesses Inuyasha after he fails to attack it. Sesshomaru and Kagome arrive; Sesshomaru fights the possessed Inuyasha while Kagome retrieves Tetsusaiga, which Magatsuhi discarded. Kagome nearly falls off a cliff but holds on. Inuyasha regains control upon smelling Kagome’s blood and reclaiming the sword. Magatsuhi attempts to possess Kagome, but Inuyasha uses Tetsusaiga to extract the demonic energy. Finally, Sesshomaru employs Tenseiga to permanently dispel the evil spirit, resolving the immediate threat.
