He specifically seeks an individual to manage the mansion and another capable of fighting and protecting him. During this search, he encounters Maria, a beautiful human girl, and Sofia, a beautiful elf. These two individuals are presented as potential candidates to fulfill his requirements for household management and personal security while he focuses on the manufacturing process.

Takumi Forms a Party and Takes on Goblins

Takumi tells Maria and Sofia he wishes to travel, so he registers them both with the Adventurer's Guild to create an official party. He removes several troublemakers from the guild before the Guild Master advises him to quickly raise his party's rank. Following this counsel, the trio sets out together on a Quest to defeat goblins.

Takumi invents refrigerators and seeks mythril and adamantite from Horas, accepting a quest to slay mine monsters and escort dwarf blacksmith Dgambo to harvest Treant wood. Papek provides horses in exchange for ore and appliances. Takumi defeats Iron Moles to mine ore, crafting magic-infused armor and weapons for himself, the girls, and Sofia, who requests a shield. Noticing Takumi’s exhaustion, Sofia decides he needs a proper assistant. Meanwhile, the Sidonia Empire notices King Barcula’s promotion of Takumi’s Light Magic toilets, prompting a demand for information. In the future, Akira and Yamato become elite Sidonian fighters, while Akane openly dislikes Elizabeth. Nolyn foresees Akira and Yamato involved in bloody conflict as the Emperor sends them to the Samandor Kingdom.

Takumi Tames a Drake Horse After a Dangerous Storage Incident

Barcula’s king mocks the Church of Holy Light’s ultimatum regarding Light Magic. Takumi learns he will be sent a year into the past, delaying other heroes. He constructs a coach and hunts a Drake Horse for Maria. Maple befriends an injured Drake, which Takumi stores in his dimension, causing him to pass out from magical strain. Sofia uses telepathy to guide Maple, who opens the dimension to free the beast. Takumi eventually wakes, tames the Drake, and names her Camellia.

Reyva the Fox-Eared Girl and the Capital's Political Maneuvers

At the Palum Slave Trading Company in the capital, Reyva, a magic-capable fox-girl, remains unsold due to training requirements. Takumi completes her coaching and applies Spacial Expansion to create a functional interior with bedrooms and facilities. Marquis Godwin orders increased protection for Takumi against nations like Sidonia. Meanwhile, Akane investigates the Church of Holy Light, discovering their belief that Goddess Anat created humans as superior beings. With five days remaining before meeting the king, Papek proposes a second enchanted carriage as a gift, securing private workspace at the Palum Company. Sofia insists Takumi hire an assistant, leading manager Burton to arrange a meeting with Reyva. She fears rejection but rejoices when Takumi offers to teach her and send wages to support her family. In Sidonia, the emperor is enraged by Barcula’s king ignoring demands regarding Takumi and contemplates invasion. Elizabeth advises waiting to summon the three heroes before war, suggesting instead to spread rumors of a craftsman disrespecting the church to attract Takumi’s attention.

Takumi Chooses Wings of Nolyn and Fights Assassins on a Quest

King Lobos Barcula meets Takumi early, denying him a noble title to protect his identity from Sidonia. Elizabeth’s spies steal a sewer purification device, prompting an assassination attempt on Takumi in Bolton. Reyva joins the adventurer guild, prompting the need for a party name. Barack trains Takumi in combat. Meanwhile, Akane grows uneasy about the church’s intentions regarding herself, Akira, and Yamato. Takumi crafts a mythril and Treant wood staff for Reyva. He then accepts a four-day quest from Barack to escort a merchant to Kilbus Village to trade purification devices. Takumi enjoys familiar dairy products in Kilbus and learns about local rice cultivation. Nostalgic, he names the party Wings of Nolyn. Upon returning to Bolton, assassins attack with paralysis poison, but Takumi’s resistance skill and training allow him to defeat them effortlessly. Barack arrests the attackers and urges Takumi to report the incident to Marquis Godwin.

The Divine Light Squadron is identified as the assassins, prompting Godwin, the Church of Creation, and the Adventurers Guild to prioritize Takumi's safety. The Emperor leaves Takumi temporarily to summon heroes in three months. Maple advises taming a wild golem instead of creating one. Takumi finds an Iron Golem guarding a temple to Nolyn, taming it peacefully and naming it Titan. Titan later gains an adamantine and mithril body, speech, and a larger emergency form. Meanwhile, Nolyn fears the Church of Divine Light will manifest Anat as an evil Goddess and hopes Takumi can end the war with Sidonia soon.

Takumi Establishes a Fortified Village for Displaced Villagers in Ten Days

Corrupt nobles abandon a southern Bolton village, leaving Máni bitter over her husband’s death. Godwin tasks Takumi with settling refugees on monster-infested land, but he uses alchemy and magic to build a fortified town with farmland and a castle in ten days. Skeptical refugees suspect a trap, prompting Máni to insult Takumi and leave. When monsters attack, Takumi rescues Máni from outside the walls, proving his sincerity. She accepts a position as his maid. Godwin approves the strategic settlement near Sidonia’s border, angering the Sidonian Emperor. Elizabeth announces her spell is ready, and an unnatural magic pulse signals that exactly one year has passed since Takumi’s arrival, coinciding with Sidonia summoning the heroes.

Takumi defends Wedgefort while Akane joins him after escaping the heroes.

Three months after the hero summoning, Takumi’s town has grown and been named Wedgefort. The heroes begin visiting other kingdoms, scaring believers of the Church of Creation. Papek hires Takumi to escort the heroes to the royal capital Bakilatos. Akira and Yamato begin casually abusing innocent people. Akane, with her blessing of Revelation, senses something she needs in Bakilatos. Akira and Yamato barge into the Bakilatos Guild and attempt to buy Máni and Sofia, only for Takumi to refuse their demands. Takumi then destroys Akira's sword and takes down Yamato after they charge at him. The heroes leave but swear revenge. Akane realizes Takumi is what she has been searching for and flees to Takumi's hotel with her loyal slave Lulu. Takumi admits he was the fourth hero accidentally summoned by Sidonia and sent to the past by Nolyn. Akane realizes Sidonia only summoned heroes to legitimize Anat and gain more followers for when they declare war. Akane shares her belief Akira and Yamato's personalities only changed due to being drugged, which she avoided with Purification Magic. At Akane's request, Takumi removes Lulu's slave collar. Takumi decides to take Akane and Lulu to his home and informs King Lobos Barcula what happened. An army of monsters attacks Wedgefort. Takumi cancels all his slave contracts, wanting everyone to stay with him by their own choice. He also constructs two swords; Holy Sword Amaterasu and Sublime Sword Tsukuyomi. The Guild sends an emergency summons to Takumi and all A and B Rank adventurers to urgently defend Wedgefort.

Takumi combines his swords to slay the beast and reprimands Sofia for her recklessness. After rebuilding Wedgefort, the group returns to Bolton. Meanwhile, Akira and Yamato slaughter an innocent village in Samandor. Takumi apologizes to Sofia, nearly creating a romantic moment before Akane interrupts and vows to oppose the heroes. Takumi later meets Nolyn, promising to protect his loved ones and delivering requested sweets. Nolyn acknowledges the difficult future ahead but believes his path to becoming the greatest living alchemist and saving the world will be worthwhile.
