Queen Jewelina asks the Jewelpets to fill the Magical Jewel Box with Magic Jewels to trigger a miracle. She gives Ruby the box, explaining that opening the Jewelpet Cafe is the only way to gather the gems. Ruby and her friends travel to Jewel Academy by bus to open the shop. They encounter roommates Chiari, Nene, and Ruruka, who are late for class. The trio meets the Jewelpets and introduces themselves. Ruby plans to open the cafe near the academy, and Chiari notices the Magical Jewel Box. After the girls rush to class, Ruby uses her Jewel Pod to fix the dilapidated building, but the spell backfires and decorates the cafeteria instead. Teacher Jewelina advertises the new cafe on screen. Two mysterious students observe the busy location before hiding. Chiari and her friends witness the cafe's success, unaware that Ruby's troubles are just beginning.
