Ep. 5: Garnet seeks a friend to obtain a Magic Gem while Marie faces bad luck and jealousy

Garnet feels envious watching Ruby and others receive Magic Gems through their friendships with humans like Chiari. Upon arriving, Chiari mentions her good luck, but Garnet’s luck turns bad as she trips while checking her Jewel Pod. Determined to endure this streak to earn her own Magic Jewel, she searches for a human friend. Meanwhile, Marie and Nobara experience similar bad luck at the dormitory and rush to the academy. At the Jewelpet Cafe, busy with customers, Garnet continues her search without success. Marie and Nobara arrive, hoping to find humans for their own gems. Marie attempts to befriend Ruby but is ignored when Chiari interrupts to help Ruby clean. Frustrated by Nobara’s explanation of Chiari’s success, Marie targets Rossa, who is busy working. Labra interrupts to play with Marie, who becomes bored and leaves with Nobara. Garnet also fails to find a friend among Nene and Ruruka, wondering how she will succeed.
