Mikage begins an investigation and encounters a swordswoman, arriving just in time to rescue Ayunosuke from falling. Following the restoration of her health, Jiyu blows a whistle to summon Ayunosuke and questions him regarding the Eyepatch. Ayunosuke provides a full explanation of the situation. Although Jiyu is moved to tears by his account, she firmly refuses to accept the Eyepatch. She swears an oath that she will never become Yagyu Jubei again, rejecting the identity despite her emotional reaction to the truth revealed during their conversation.
