The Science Ninja Team pursues Katse to a base where X orders his termination. After Joe’s blind Bird Missile destroys the fortress upper section, the team enters but triggers a trap burying them in sand. They escape via tornado fighter, yet Joe’s condition hinders their efforts. Ken notices Joe’s distress and keeps him in the God Phoenix. While Ken and others find an ammunition room, X traps them in a drill-equipped chamber descending toward magma. Ken contacts Joe, requesting a timed Bird Missile strike below the drill. Despite Joe’s lack of confidence, Ken entrusts him with their lives and provides coordinates via bird scramble. Joe prays for clarity, regaining normal vision momentarily to launch the missile. The team survives, but Ken feels unease seeing the blood on Joe’s hand.
