Kaoruko uncovers proof that Isshiki resided at Takahashi's house, while Sakon finds that museum telephone handsets were tampered with. Sakon tricks Isshiki into admitting he knew about the interference, which destroys his alibi and identifies him as the killer. The investigation reveals that Museum director Yuuki Mari discovered the Egyptian knife bought by Isshiki was a counterfeit. To conceal this significant professional error, Isshiki murdered Yuuki Mari.
