Erin observed Lilan scratching against a tree and decided to groom her using a brush. She enlisted the help of Mok and Nuk to construct a larger brush, as the original tool proved inefficient. During the grooming process, Erin accidentally caused pain to Lilan. This incident enraged the beast, who retaliated by injuring Erin. Subsequently, Esal informed Erin that Lilan’s obedience stemmed solely from fear. Consequently, Erin became afraid to approach Lilan. However, recalling their shared memories, she gathered the courage to reconnect with the beast and restore their bond.
