Division 1 prepares to test the SRX-70, a new Patrol Labor equipped with a 42mm gun that surpasses the Ingram. The manufacturer, Toyohata, insists on sending its own mechanics for maintenance instead of allowing SV2 personnel to service the unit. Captain Goto suspects foul play and, with assistance from Asuma, discovers that Toyohata is a front for the manufacturer Shaft. The company aims to steal movement patterns and data to develop military Labors. Captain Nagumo of Division 1 faces a difficult choice between deploying the outdated Type 97 Patlabors or using the new prototype, which risks providing critical data for military development.
