Ep. 10: Zatch and Kiyo confront Shin, who is manipulated by the Mamodo Eshros into destroying a school.
Zatch receives aid from a benevolent man named Shin. Kiyo observes that his partner Eshros possesses a mamodo book, leading him to deduce that Shin is a Mamodo. After trailing the pair, they discover Eshros is the Mamodo and that the duo plans to demolish a school the following day. Zatch pursues them, assuming Shin is good, and uncovers that Eshros is deceiving Shin by claiming this mission fulfills his mother's dying wish for him to become strong. The next day, Kiyo and Zatch persuade Shin that Eshros is manipulating him. Realizing his mother actually wanted him to be like Kiyo, Shin employs his most powerful spell to defeat both opponents. He then surrenders his book to Kiyo for burning, acknowledging Eshros is unworthy of kingship. Finally, Zatch and Kiyo visit Shin's mother's grave, leaving Shin content with his new friendships.
