However, he becomes overly nervous as a starter and is substituted out immediately. The coaches hesitate regarding his placement, but Aomine encourages them to retain him for one day. Once Kuroko manages his anxiety, his contribution to the team becomes evident, leading to his permanent position on the first string bench.
