Konata, Kagami, and Tsukasa visit Comiket 71 in late 2006. Tsukasa struggles as a first-timer and fails to buy an item for Konata. A Lucky Channel announcement about Akira Kogami proves to be a cardboard cutout citing sudden illness. Later, Konata meets her friends at a New Year festival and suffers bad lottery luck. To secure her otoshidama, she acts kindly toward her father. She logs into a game to send new year greetings and encounters her teacher online. In Lucky Channel, Minoru hosts the intro while Akira appears wearing a mask. Minoru explains that Akira’s sudden illness prevented her from appearing in episode twelve of Lucky Star.
