Hayate joins Delta Squadron under Mirage and endures rigorous Valkyrie training. After neglecting his duties, he accepts a challenge from Mirage to land a hit before time expires or face expulsion. Simultaneously, Freyja lacks drive during her Walküre rehearsals. The group shows her footage of Hayate’s intense duel to inspire her. Witnessing his effort, Freyja sings with renewed purpose, which appears to empower Hayate to finally strike Mirage. Although surprised by his success, Mirage acknowledges his improvement. Impressed by her skill, Hayate commits to attending her training sessions regularly, marking a turning point in his development as a pilot and his relationship with his mentor.
