Ep. 21: Nova confronts Lantis while Umi and Fuu battle monsters fueled by children's fear.
A black sphere releases Debonair’s monsters, prompting Umi and Fuu to fight while Hikaru pursues Nova. Clef detects Nova’s presence, noting its similarity to Hikaru’s. Lantis recognizes Nova from the sword ceremony and is shocked by her resemblance to Hikaru. After destroying the cell barrier, Nova battles Lantis, claiming to be born from Hikaru. Hikaru follows a beam from her pendant to the fight. Nova attempts to strike Lantis but is stopped by Eagle, who reveals Hikaru loves him. Umi and Fuu receive aid from Ascot, Ferio, Lafarga, and Caldina. As the Pillar shifts, Clef senses changes. Fuu realizes the children’s fear strengthens the monsters, so Umi urges them to believe in her. Lantis fights Nova again; she kisses him, shocking Hikaru. Nova taunts Hikaru about Lantis’s feelings regarding Zagato. The children choose to believe in Umi and Fuu, weakening the sphere and monsters. Debonair orders Nova to retreat, promising Lantis will be hers. Umi and Fuu destroy the sphere, but Hikaru is wounded by Nova’s words.
