Instead of resolving the dispute, the two officials begin arguing over jurisdiction, nearly coming to blows. The message reveals that recent rule changes were imposed by the JDF to facilitate a secret military weapon test by the Kudou Family during the Steeplechase Cross-country Event. Suspecting foul play, Tatsuya travels to Nara, the location of the Kudou Family's stronghold, to investigate their ongoing experiments and uncover the truth behind the sudden modifications to the competition schedule.

Tatsuya faces exhaustion while Kudou Family parasite doll experiments occur at Steeplechase.

The Kudou Family’s secret research focuses on creating parasite dolls, which are female combat robots controlled by parasites. These experimental operations take place at the Steeplechase Cross-country venue, a location with unusually strict security that prevents Tatsuya from entering. Consequently, Tatsuya tasks Pixie with monitoring for parasites while he works as an engineer, adjusting CADs and directing underclassmen. Despite his technical duties, the relentless pace and persistent tension are taking a severe toll on him.
