Ginta faces Ian, one of the Chess Pieces, but his lack of experience with Babbo puts him at a disadvantage. To help, Edward shifts into his second form, Alan, a mysterious figure dreaded by the Chess members. This transformation buys Ginta time to unfreeze Snow, during which they accidentally share a kiss. Amidst the chaos, Halloween, a Knight of the Chess Pieces who has a contentious history with Alan, arrives. He summons his subordinates back to deliver the Chess Pieces' official declaration of war against MÄR-Heaven, escalating the conflict significantly.
