Sixteen years prior, Momoka’s spirit split into penguin hats for Himari and Mario, while Sanetoshi became two black rabbits. Presently, Shouma learns Himari is dying. Ringo comforts him as Kanba takes Sanetoshi to revive the injured Masako. Ignoring her pleas, Kanba departs with Sanetoshi and half the diary. Shouma sees Himari’s vision, which includes a kiss, before Kanba shoots him unconscious with a penguin bullet. Kanba summons Ringo to the aquarium, where a bomb explodes. Sanetoshi watches her fail to save her diary half and orders Kanba to burn the other. Shouma awakens and pursues Kanba to stop his plans.
