A fried octopus ball cart from Osaka arrives in Ikki’s neighborhood, prompting Natalie to stay up all night perfecting her recipe. Although the food draws a crowd, Ikki remains unsatisfied due to his connoisseur status. He provides Natalie with valuable advice, which causes her to fall in love with him rather than become upset. Natalie faces a difficult choice between her new affection for Ikki and her ambition to eliminate him from the competition to enter the World Robattle Tournament and promote her father’s recipe. Meanwhile, Ikki becomes so distracted by the smell of the octopus balls that he nearly loses a Robattle against the Clam-Type Octoclam Medabot. This narrative corresponds to Episode 38 in the Nelvana English dubbed version.
