Conan, Ran, and Kazuha visit Haido Shrine, known for matchmaking, on the 115 fate day. Ran learns Kazuha discovered the location through Heiji. Conan spots a man in a fox mask and finds Heiji, teasing him with a voice-changing bowtie. Heiji recounts seven failed confession attempts, realizing he needs luck. He wears the mask to hide his voice. Kazuha mistakes him for Komoto Hyoga. A suspicious man is found dead on the shrine steps. Police investigator Soushi was investigating three criminals: pickpocket Tsurumi Shamoto, hit-and-run driver Torahiko Kawano, and fraudster Kyouma Jinnai. Heiji deduces the victim was murdered using a flagpole, not an accident.
