Sonoko visits the beach with Ran and Conan to find romance, encountering waiter Kyogoku Makoto, stalker Terabayashi Shouji, and student Tadahiko Michiwaki. Tadahiko shares a tale about a brown-haired woman murdered a year ago, frightening Ran. After taking photos while waiting for a blocked train, the group discovers a recent murder matching that description. At a motel, Sonoko is attacked by someone searching her bags and bites the attacker's hairy bicep. Conan investigates why Sonoko was targeted and what secrets her camera might hold regarding the violent events.
