During a performance of Kamen Yaiba at an amusement park, the actor jumps from a bungee cord that suddenly burns, causing him to fall into the water. He is discovered dead twenty minutes later. Conan deduces that the person who jumped was actually the murderer of the real Yaiba actor, who had been killed beforehand. The culprit confesses to the crime, explaining that he committed the murder because he was told he could not portray the character Yaiba.
