Ran messages Shinichi but sees Conan receive it, sparking suspicion. Tomoko Kiriya hires Kogoro to find her phone, suspecting her husband or in-laws. She locates it and dismisses him. Conan learns Tomoko was murdered in her car. Police and the detectives investigate the Kiriya home. The suspects provide alibis: the father behind shoji, the brother’s shadow, and the husband’s pipe smoke. With an affair ruled out, the investigation connects the crime to a murder twelve years ago committed by Eisuke Kiriya, the missing third son suspected of killing his fiancée.
