Conan, Haibara, and the kids enter the former home of Kichiemon, a puppet maker and riddle architect. The house contains booby-traps that nearly harm Genta until a treasure hunter rescues him from a spike pit. They encounter another hunter and fall through a trap door into the basement, where Conan saves them with a supersized soccerball. There, they discover Kichiemon's grave, human remains, and an old lady. One hunter admits to finding the mirror artifact, while Conan reveals the tear-shaped stone. The group continues their search for the sword, the final piece of the puzzle.
