Ep. 414: Detective Boys Investigate Yuka's Budgerigar and Suspect Sakaguchi's Poison

Conan and the Detective Boys visit classmate Yuka Konno, where they meet Shinya Sakaguchi, her mother's partner. Yuka shows them her budgerigar Chichi, noting its cere turned brown and it appears smaller. Haibara deduces Sakaguchi replaced the missing bird. Later, Ayumi, Genta, and Mitsuhiko confront Sakaguchi, who claims Chichi died and he hid it to spare Yuka sadness. The boys suspect evaporating poison used to kill the bird, citing open windows as evidence. They rush to warn Yuka, but Conan reveals the truth: Chichi was merely sick, causing the color change. Sakaguchi kept windows open to air out his body odor after working three days straight without a shower. He apologizes to Yuka and gifts her a new male budgerigar.
