Ran and Conan visit Eri Kisaki to remind her of the anniversary of her first date with Kogoro. After receiving a phone call, Eri departs for a café. While she is gone, her cat Goro knocks over a vase, revealing a photograph and her mother's wedding ring to Ran. Ran notices the number on the photo matches the caller's ID, leading her to suspect an affair. She follows Eri to the café and overhears a man speaking to a woman in a baby talk tone. Eri tearfully admits she could not stop trembling, to which the man replies that it is just a dream, deepening Ran's confusion about her mother's secret life.
