Kogoro attends an interview with mystery author Masataka Moroguchi, who is subsequently found dead from poison. The crime scene presents a locked room mystery where the key rests in the victim's palm, and the only entrance is a small window too narrow for an adult. Sato and Takagi investigate the scene and suspect that the killer is among the three individuals who interviewed Moroguchi.
