Ep. 516: The Mysterious Armoured Warrior and the Centipede Murders

Kogoro and Heiji investigate parallel murders involving dead centipedes, linking the Torada and Tatsuo families to a six-year-old incident involving Officer Kuroto Kai. A third detective, Kansuke Yamato, joins the inquiry as they uncover that Kai died of emaciation after falling from a cliff. The victims were searching for Takeda Shingen’s legendary treasure, and the centipedes reference Shingen’s soldiers. After Ran and Kazuha spot a moving Takeda Shingen armor, Ayaka Tatsuo is found hanged with a centipede nearby. The detectives deduce the killer follows the Furinkazan pattern, predicting a death by fire. Consequently, Shigetsugu Torada is found combusting into flames near a railroad track, confirming the killer’s adherence to this specific sequence of fatal events.
