Kidnappers demand Conan’s group locate treasure before nightfall. Conan matches a cat image from a diary to a Hagi map, revealing a temple. He decodes “mouse” as “mouth,” finding a clue in a stone lantern’s fire mouth. A diary page directs them to Akiyoshi cave, the only one with a lake. Conan rearranges jumbled map panels using cave kanji. The map indicates finding dragon pairs where a fox rock points to a light rock. Kikkawa guides them to two waterfalls. There, a fox-shaped shadow reveals a mirror inside a rock. Pushing the rock exposes a cave, which the group navigates using the constructed map.
