Ryousuke Oomine threatens Kazuyoshi Onda, president of a game company, demanding payment for his designer. During the confrontation, Oomine accidentally shoots Onda and flees. The next day, Ran and Sonoko take Conan to a mall ice-cream parlor. Conan overhears Takagi discussing a kidnapping by Oomine. He locates Oomine abducting a young girl named Kayoko in the parking lot. Using turbo power shoes, Conan kicks a cart at Oomine to free her. Oomine then captures Conan as a hostage. Police pursue them to a warehouse basement. Conan determines Oomine is unarmed and tries to escape. An unknown man attempts to shoot Conan, but Oomine saves him. Meanwhile, Kogoro investigates Oomine’s friends and finds three others with motives to kill Onda. Realizing the case is complex, Conan asks Professor Agasa to hide him and Oomine from the police.
