Oomine explains at Agasa’s home that the firearm used to shoot Onda contained only blanks, intended solely to frighten him. He discloses that he discarded the weapon after the incident. Conan, Oomine, Agasa, and Kogoro begin a search for the missing gun. Conan spots a dent on a wall, deducing the gun’s trajectory. He realizes it landed on an automatic window washer, which carried it to the roof. Examination confirms the ammunition was indeed blanks, proving an attempt to frame Oomine for murder. Conan then returns to the basement where the culprit previously tried to shoot him, discovering a fragment of a gun.
